Due to the practicalities of modern urban living, we cannot pick our vegetables fresh from the paddock or enjoy a fully tree ripened fruit straight from the orchard.

Our growers understand post harvest handling and with the use of temperature controlled transport, produce arrives at the Sydney markets quickly and remarkably fresh.
From here we are fastidious about quality and our warehouse handling. Produce is stored according to its unique, optimal requirements.
Vegetables like broccoli and corn rapidly loose their flavour and nutrients if not kept cold whilst tomatoes if kept too cold loose their ability to further ripen, darken in colour and sweeten are destroyed. Therefore we maintain 4 different temperature controlled cool rooms.
From a 12 degrees tropical cool room that perfectly stores not only things like bananas, mangoes, passionfruit and tomatoes to our 2 degree vegetable room maintaining broccoli, corn, celery, beans, carrots. The separate dairy and apple cool room runs between 1 and 2.5 degrees to maintain optimum produce and our minus 18 degree freezer stores frozen meat and poultry produce.
In an ordinary shop, this temperature control is just not as possible. Fruit and vegetables are displayed for your shopping convenience but you would never leave your piece of broccoli, lettuce or bunch of bok choy on your kitchen counter for the day. Fresh produce on display is subjected to warmth and dehydrating airflow and this is what causes rapid deterioration of your fruit and vegetables.
Because we maintain your fruit and vegetables meticulously we have developed the reputation for quality over the years. Of course this starts with our discerning selection, but it is our superior and thoughtful handling that also contributes to the enviable result.
